Sažetak
In addition to the problems due to incoplete construction, substantial war damages occurred in 1991. and 1992. on water management works and systems in Croatia. Activities of Serbian paramilitary troups and of the former Yugoslav federal army resulted in damages and destruction, in particular on structures for flood protection and for water supply systems. Total direct damage amounts to DEM 140 million ; however, the indirect damages are considerably higher, resulting from decreased or discontinued functioning of a part of water management system in Croatia, bearing in mind their economic and infrastructural importance. There are no data on the status and systems on the territories of the sixteen temporarily occupied municipalities in Croatia.
