Sažetak
The elemntary education in Croatia has been recently considerably transformed, particulary the evaluation system in the lower grades. The classical numerical evaluation has been change to descriptive evaluation. As a prerequisite for checking the effects of two diferent evaluation systems upon the prevalent type of students' motivation for learning, the factor structures of Harter's Self report scale of intrinsic vs. extrinsic orientation in the classroom has been examined. Contrary to Harter's five factor model, two factor structure has emerged, highly congruent between two samples of 4th grade pupils under different evaluation systems at school. This finding led to the adaptation of the Harter's original scale.
