Sažetak
This paper presents comparison of experimental tests results conducted on locally reinforced and non-reinforced joints with large diameter fasteners [1] and finite element models (FEM). Hereby the contribution of the reinforcement textile in connection zone is studied. The experimental tests were conducted on the specimens loaded perpendicular and at the angle of 45° to grain. For each group of joints, two types of specimens have been made, locally reinforced and non-reinforced joints at the connection zone with the glass fibre textile. In total, four groups of specimens 100×20×12[cm] were tested to the failure. FEM were made in the software package Abaqus/CAE v6.10 with UMAT subroutine [2] and with cohesive interaction between the surfaces. With the UMAT subroutine, Hill and Tsai-Wu yield criteria were defined and used for the complex wood mechanical behaviour in the tension and compression [3]. Wood failure in tension perpendicular to grain with the crack opening and propagation was modeled with the cohesive interaction between the surfaces [4]. Results for both groups of specimens, locally reinforced and non-reinforced, were compared with FEM results and the effects of reinforcement glass fibre textile in the connection zone are pointed out.
