Sažetak
Several types of corrosion protection systems for reinforced concrete are available and used today. The most recent technology is the application of migrating corrosion inhibitors (MCIâ), which decrease the corrosion rate of the reinforcement embedded in concrete. Migrating corrosion inhibitors are a mixed (anodic /cathodic) amino-carboxylate based inhibitor system. A migrating corrosion inhibitor topical treatment, will migrate to the reinforcement first by capillary suction and than by diffusion (both liquid and vapour) at Bjegović et al [1].
In this paper the inhibition mechanism of the migrating corrosion inhibitors is explained. Concrete beams were made as substrate specimens. After 28 days the upper surface of the specimens was cleaned by steel brush and three types of topical protection systems were applied, Table 1. After the application of the protection systems the specimens were cured for two weeks at 20°C and 65% RH
and than testing per ASTM G 109. This procedure was repeated in the course of one year.
