Sažetak
Graphic design is a typical example of the aesthetic form meant to advertise both the product and itself through the product. The act of advertising, especially visual advertising, is part of a gigantic communication mechanism. The way a designer sees, designs, and uses his or her visual system differs from the way an ordinary person experiences it. In order to make greater profit for the company they work for, designers often do not choose the means to achieve their goal. Graphic design (or, in a broader sense, visual communication) helps create all kinds of visual images and information. Its products can form relations between mental and material world, but they can as well become means of communication or manipulation among people. A poster can be viewed as a communicative whole based on structurally hard conceived message having a meaningful and delicate typographic framework containing photographs and images. A poster is a very specific medium of communication and should be consciously designed in order to fulfil its dual role: bringing the message and influencing the atmosphere and conditions within the society. Advertising is shaping individuals and entire societies through different interactions. A poster is a successful tool for delivering an advertising message to the wide audience, therefore influencing the mass culture as well.
