Sažetak
This paper discusses the importance of biomedical engineering, and particularly biomechanics as a valuable field of biomedical engineering, in different aspects of human living. As an example of biomedical engineering in practice, we described the design, development and testing of 3D motion tracking system based on two high-speed digital cameras and markers based on light emitting diodes (LED). The system is used for acquisition of human gait kinematics. Measurements were performed on 30 healthy subjects. Healthy and simulated irregular gait patterns were measured. We have proposed a new kinematic parameter, Gait Factor (GF) which could be the valuable quantitative measure for the identification of the irregularity in human gait.
