Sažetak
The aim of the study was to investigate possible alterations of regional cerebral blood flow in PTSD patients after administration of the radiopharmaceutical and SPECT scanning in "white noise" enviroment. 25 PTSD male patients and 11 age-matched control subjects were studied with SPECT using 99mTc-ECD in resting state. There are significant imapirments of regional cerebral blood flow in PTSD ptients, even in the resting state, with mostly areas of hyperperfusion in the region of left amygdala/nucleus accumbens and left basal ganglia, suggesting the possibility of constant and irreversible reginal cerebral blood flow changes in PTSD patients.
