Sažetak
Acute ileus caused by anomalies of rotation and fixation of the bowel presents the specific pathologic feature with feasibility for differential diagnostc dysfunction in radiological reports obtained in the course of conventional radiological studies of the gastrointestinal tract. Authors present 144 patients who werw registered during 10 year period with clinical and radiological presentation of acute ileus caused by anomalies of intestinal rotation and fixation. Duodenal ileus was diagnosed in 76 patients (53%). Pathognomonic radiological sign of ileus on this level is the "twist inwards sign". Sign of midgut volvulus, an additional complication, is "spiral band sign". Small intestinal ileus, of this etiology, was diagnosed in 25 patients (17%) and is known as "mosaic-type ileus" after pathognomonic "mosaic sign". Colonic ileus was diagnosed in 43 patients (30%). Radiological sign of this pathologic feature, known so far, are of a pronounced specific quality, often pathognomonic.
