Sažetak
Determining residual stress in structure by method of laocal stress relief is studied in paper.When determining residual stressin structure by means of the local stress relief method,it is necessary to make cuts on the surface of the structure around the measurement point where the deformation measuring device is placed. The theoretical and experimental research was conducted in the order to define the required ratio of the depth and spacing (H/L) of the cut.The theoretical research was performed using the finite-element method for the compressed model. The experimental research was conducted on a photoelastic model subjected to compression, with the cuts on one or both sides. Based on results obtained during the theoretical and experimental analyses, it may be assumed with a sufficient degree of precision that if H/L ratio is >0,5 then the stress is completely relieved from the studied part of the structure's surface.
