Sažetak
A partially reflective surface (PRS) antenna with MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS)-based dynamic beamwidth control in X-band is presented. The PRS and the MEMS elements controlling its reflectivity and antenna beamwidth are monolithically integrated for optimal performance, achieving very low loss and radiation efficiency better than 75% in all operation states. The half-power beamwidth variation of 18° and 23° in the E-plane and the H-plane is observed, respectively. Owing to the PRS unit cell topology, the antenna can operate in dual-linear polarization with independent beamwidth control, or in single circular polarization.
