Sažetak
Today, when the free encyclopedic content takes precedence regarding the number of users to the traditionally edited encyclopedia, question of quality of its content becomes of great importance. In order to investigate the issue of content quality, we have defined a model which determines the current state of free content quality in comparison to traditionally edited encyclopedia. As a source for comparison we took the Croatian issue of Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Croatica (LZMK). The fundamental elements of quality assessment are data volume and accuracy, comprehensiveness, objectivity and focus. A comparative model for quality assessment of encyclopedic content consists of two major parts: a) quantitative and qualitative automatic analysis and b) peer review analysis. In order to achieve maximum coverage, we used the entire content of both encyclopedic sources as a input data for the first part of analysis. For the second part, a selected sample was used to obtain aforementioned fundamental elements of quality.
