Sažetak
The text describes the methodological frameworks of research into dances that refer to some borderline, but gender relevant aspects of the contemporary dance culture on a couple of Dalmatian islands in Croatia, Lastovo and Korčula (1999-2009). Based on the examples of the experience with Bulas and the local community and carnival customs on Lastovo, the author reflects upon different ways of presenting the content, that is, different ways of writing ethnographic texts, depending on the target readers, the acceptability of those texts in the community in question and also the involvement of the ethnologist. In no way should any of these have a negative influence on the subjects of the research, but they should raise the awareness of the need for a dialogue and the possibilities to equally hear the voices of all participants in cultural processes.
