Sažetak
Balanced Scorecard is a strategic management tool which was designed to transform organization’s mission, vision and strategy into measurable values in order to achieve higher profit. As a strategic management tool, Balanced Scorecard is assumed to improve organization and coordination of activities in the realization process (of the mission) of the undertaken endeavor. As such, it is supposed that the balanced scorecard methodology can be applied to the thematic tourism events, where instead of financial benefits only, the focus of improvement might be measures such as greater number of visitors and participants. The aim of the paper is to determine the ways the balanced scorecard methodology implementation can facilitate successful organization, coordination and realization of thematic tourism events. The case of International Folklore Festival in Karlovac, Croatia will be the focus of this research.
