Sažetak
GThere is no doubt that the geopolitical position of the South-East Europe and the different socio- economic interests were the main reasons for the numerous war events and the construction of permanent or temporary military structures on the Croatian territory. Because of this, the paper is to point out that Croatia underutilized vast potential for the development of dark tourism. At the same time we want to show that dark tourism not recognized and not positioned in the system of tourism development. The cause can be found in the fact that the trauma of the last war 90's of the last century in the Croatian are not forgotten. Given that the number of users who require non-standard attractions and activities, and because of historical fact Croatia has the ability to develop such a kind of tourism. When designing the development of dark tourism on Croatian territory the same need to plan a way to connect with different forms of tourism such as: adrenaline, cultural, recreational, religious, rural and etc. The paper is the fact that should not be neglected possibilities of dark tourism on the Croatian territory as these can contribute to the preservation of territorial identity.
