Sažetak
Rapid expansion of cities and the development of urbanization cause a number of problems that affect the quality of life in urban areas. Inefficient transport system and urban transport networks, inadequate transport infrastructure, reduced mobility and accessibility, increased congestion, and negative impacts on the environment are some of the problems which need to be addressed systematically. Sustainable urban mobility in cities is a major challenge and a complex task for traffic experts, planners, and other experts. By applying modern technologies in the field of transport - in particular ITS services, it is possible to develop the concept of sustainable transport in cities. The paper describes the basic strategies of EU commission related to urban mobility, which analyze the current state of mobility and possible applications of ITS services in the City of Zagreb that are related to intelligent urban traffic management system.
