Sažetak
The growing interdependence of the world and European markets and increased international trade increasingly emphasizes the need for internal (European) traffic connections. In this context, increased European interest for the area of the North Adriatic is expected as an area of importance for the integration of the European transport system, and thus for European integration in the global traffic flows. Considering this statement, this paper analyzes the perspective of valorization of the North Adriatic area and associated North Adriatic ports in the European transport environment, noting: factors to account for fluctuations in cargo flows, the main features of the intensity and dynamics of trade flows in the North Adriatic area and its competitive environment, and their prospects due to market share forecasts for the North Adriatic area in the European market. This paper also refers to the relevant circumstances, measures and activities that should be pursued as a function of valorization of this area in Europe and in the context of wider transport market.
