Sažetak
Elements of special designs in process industry are exposed to a great number of negative influences during exploitation. All these negative factors lead to a shorter useful life of the design, with the most significant factor being the material selected and the process of its manufacturing and design, as well as exploitation conditions. Manufacturing technology is oriented toward meeting the requirements for the material, and the implementation technology is closely connected to the exploitation area and design solutions. This paper presents the research of material behavior during the exploitation and the influence of changed material characteristics on shortening the useful life of the observed design. The influence of changing the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the material (which is used in vessels of the highest class) is also shown, as well as the importance of these changes in a case of crack appearance and crack propagation.
