Sažetak
Water is, in ecological sense, the most used and the most endangered, but also the most important part of the global ecosystem. In certain countries, according to their laws, water is divided into four categories, which determine if they are potable, and for each of the categories the maximum concentration of certain pollutants is determined. Protection against pollution from waste waters from industrial plants and residential areas is especially important. According to this, the European Union came up with the UES (Uniform Emission Standards) regulations, which are especially important in the area of chemical (process) industry, mainly for oil refineries, cellulose, paper and sugar factories. In practice, certain gained experiences in the treatment of industrial water have been shown, especially in thermoenergetic plants, along with their inluence on the safety of plants, with recommendations from the producers of boiler plants. Since water disinfection is the main process of water treatment, certain experiences in the Chlorine and Chlorine-dioxide disinfection have been shown.
