Sažetak
Hyalophane from Busovača in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a new gem material. It is a member of K-Ba-feldspar series where orthoclase and celsian are respective K and Ba end-members. The formula of hyalophane maybe given as (K,Ba)(Al(Al,Si)Si2O8). The stones are colourless, fully transparent with refrective indices of nx=1.541-1.543, ny=1.546-1.549, nz=1.549-1.551, birefrigence of 0.007-0.008 and a specific gravity of 2.89 g/cm3. Routine gemmological indentification using standard reference tables or appropriate identification software is not posible since hyalophane has up to now been unknown as gem material. Inclusions in Hy were investicated and identificated by microscopy and micro-Raman spectroscopy. They can be used as a gemmological diagnostic feature for the Busovača locality.
