This volume offers several valuable essays towards rethinking how to talk about cultural memory in the postcolonial Pacific, how to overcome the 'scholarly fiction' of a distinction between a time before contact and a time after contact, and how to apply new methods of 'the colonial landscape of Pacific memory'.
