Sažetak
An index for Dalmatia region, Croatia, developed by Stambuk-Giljanovic (1999) addresses the issues of surface water quality as well groundwater quality.Nine water-quality parameters were used by the author to determine the water-quality index: temperature, mineralisation, corrosion coefficient, K, dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, total nitrogen, protein nitrogen, total phosphorus and total coliform. After determining the nine parameters, the results were recorded and transferred to a WQE table which contained the range of possibled results of the parameters and their score values. By summing up all parameters the water-quality evaluation was obtained.
