Sažetak
Saint Mark's Library in Veneice holds the codex registered as Cod. marc. It. XI, 196 (=7577), Scritture varie di argomento religioso, no. 7577, commissioned in 1466 by Buchio fiollo de ser Michiel de Bucchia, a nobelman of Kotor. The Buća Codex contains bound copies of several texts of a theological and didactic nature, as well as a copy of a legend of the life of St. Tryphon. The Kotor cycle of miniatures from the life of St. Tryphon, illustrating the text on the saint's life and miracles, is a unique cycle of a narrative hagiographic theme typical of overall Dalmatian painting in the second half of the fifteenth century. Twenty-four large miniatures incorporated into St. Tryphon's life and faithfully accompanying the description of the miracles in the Kotor copy particularly stand out. What strikes the researcher of fifteenth-century iconography are particularly vividly arranged scenes of exorcism and healing, showing that the illuminator from Boka must have had an insight into late Gothic narrative painting, but that he also probably knew the hagiographic narrative patterns of local Orthodox painting. In article are described scenes containing the motifs of exorcism and demon expulsion as found in the codex. The nine Kotor miniatures of exorcism are the only preserved depictions of this theme in Dalmatian fifteenth-century painting.
