Sažetak
Paper discusses some of Śaṅkara's methods of Upaniṣadic interpretation. First set of rules are viniyogakāraṇāni, six rules of correct application of Vedic text to ritual. Viniyogakāraṇāni originated in the school of Pūrva-Mīmāṃsā as they are described and enumerated in Mīmāṃsā-Sūtras 3.3.14 and used throughout whole Mīmāṃsā-Sūtras and Śabara's commentary on them. Later they were taken over and re-deployed in Brahma-Sūtras as a tool of Upaniṣadic interpretation. Paper examines the way these rules are deployed by Śaṅkara in his Brahma-Sūtra-Bhāṣya and by Śabara in his Bhāṣya on Mīmāṃsā-sūtras. Second set are ṣaḍvidhaliṅgāni, six characteristic marks used both in Brahma- Sūtras and by Śaṅkara in his interpretation of Upaniṣads. Although in some previous literature it was claimed that they also originated in Pūrva-Mīmāṃsā, I would lay a claim that they are genuine Vedāntic principles of Upaniṣadic interpretation.
