Sažetak
Starting with the thesis that transparency is more than popular or fashionable expression, this paper examines the importance and various aspects of the transparency principle in general and particularly in the case of the Republic of Croatia. The special emphasis is given to the analysis of the most developed aspect of transparency, namely to the openess of decision-making process, and in particular access to information. Based on the analysis of the main dimensions of transparency in Croatia, with the focus on detecion of ''weak points'', this paper ends with recommendations for improving the current (unenviable) situation.
