Sažetak
Public needs of population of certain area met via regional self-government unit, i.e. counties, and local self-government units, i.e. municipalities and cities. In the Republic of Croatia, 20 counties have been established as regional self-government units, 555 local self-government unit have been established consisting of 429 municipalities and 126 cities and the City of Zagreb which has special status of both a city and a county, so there is a total of 576 units of local and regional self-government.
