Sažetak
Following up the conclusions of the Lisbon European Council, The "eLearning: Designing tomorrow's education" initiative set out the principles, objectives and lines of action of eLearning, defined as the use of new multimedia technologies and the Internet to improve the quality of learning by facilitating access to resources and services as well as remote exchanges and collaboration. Libraries have a key role in education by their basic functions and active user help in finding written knowledge from different information sources outside of libraries. Today, library's activities promote two major features of its action: the availability of written knowledge and the quality of that knowledge. Thanks to information and communication technology libraries are able to upgrade their existing services and develop new ones with respect to user interaction with library body in electronic form and individualizing that approach with parameter selection in accordance with user wishes and needs. Aim of this research was to establish the success of Croatian academic libraries (departmental, faculty, university) keeping up to date with above mentioned premise of strategic document by the European commission.
