Sažetak
In group of patients (pts) with colorectal(CR) cancer and isolated liver metastases (LM) surgical resection can be performed and it increases 5- years survival rate to 40%.Aim of our study is to detremine significance of surgical treatment of isolated LM and systemic treatment in conversion of inoperable disease to operable.We conducted retrospective analysis of 72 patients who underwent liver resection after surgical treatment of CR carcinoma. Adjuvant chemotherapy(CT) was applied in 38 pts after inicial CR surgery.Average time from CR surgery to radiological verification of LM was 15.1 months.58 pts were estimated as resectable, 14 as inoperable.R0 resection was achieved in 30 primarily resectable pts.Inoperable pts all undervent systemic antineoplastic treatment prior to surgery and R0 liver resection was achieved in one patient.In conclusion, choice of best treatment for patient with metastatic CR cancer must be a result of multidisciplinary approach.
