Sažetak
In the first part of this paper, the author presents some quantitative data on the immigration of foreigners and foreign workers to Spain, Portugal, Greece and Turkey. The appearance of immigration in these countries is viewed as an important part of the new immigration perspective of the Mediterranean. Circa 2, 000, 000 foreign workers in Southern European countries, considered until now typical "emigration" countries, must be brought into relation with the number of Southern European migrants in the northern parts of the continent. In the second part of the paper, the possible development of an immigration perspective in Yugoslavia is examined. In the context of the Yugoslav socio-political system, the private sector of the economy is not in the position Lo stimulate the “import” of cheap foreign labour as it did in other Southern European countries. Nevertheless, certain long-term processes may create in Yugoslavia, as they did in other Southern European countries, the pre-conditions for immigration.
