Sažetak
In the contemporary historical process of the turn of the epochs, indeed, for the first time in history, one can observe the issue of a man's conscious turn. Technological development and the associated human creative power enabled the man to change (or, as it is often said, enhance) his nature. A new man as a programmatic (=regulative, utopian) idea as an expression of a man's legitimate wish for overstepping himself in the biological sense is often represented through the transhumanist movement. In this paper this idea will be seen in relation to the idea of a new man overstepping himself in an ideal way (embodiment of a theological or a political ideal). Therefore the fate of humanity after the turn of epochs in the context of technological development (Extinction, Recurrent collapse, Plateau and Posthumanity) will be opposed to the theological- moral perspective ; the idea of the birth of the New Middle Ages (N. A. Berdjajev) which implies spiritual enhancement taken as a man's return to the inner as opposed to the outer enhancement.
