Sažetak
Croatian Forest Research Institute is the public institute of Croatia. Activities of Institute are scientific, developmental and high professional researches in scientific area, biotechnical sciences ; scientific field, forestry and forestry specialisations: pedology, ecology, tree breeding, seed science, nursery production, genetics, natural reforestation, horticulture etc. According to ordinance of internal constitution, Institute has 7 scientific divisions, 2 departments and 3 research centres. Activities of Department for laboratory testing are testing quality of forest seed, physical and chemical properties of soil, water and plant material, genetics of forest trees and investigation of harmful insects and fungi. The accreditation procedure included two testing laboratories: Laboratory for physical and chemical analyses (LFKI) and Laboratory for seed testing (LIS). The scope of accreditation is testing of selected properties of forest seed and plant material. Six methods were accredited. LFKI performs scientific researches in the area of plant nutrition, the soil nutrition , the health status of soil and the atmospheric deposition in forest ecosystem. The laboratory is involved in the international programme ICP Forests. It is reference laboratory for ecological production and analyses of soil fertility. LIS is the member of international association, ISTA and the reference laboratory for testing seed quality. It performs scientific researches in the area of forest seed science. It is also dealing with morphological and physiological properties of seed and factors that influence seed quality during the storage. Both laboratories are involved in developing of new methods in their filed, specific for forestry.
