Sažetak
The paper deals with the trend analysis of the number of days with different extreme temperature characteristics. The investigation is deduced for the period 1900-1996 at three stations in Croatia with different climatic characteristics. Osijek, situated in the southern part of Pannonian lowland, represent the continental climate. Zagreb Gric is the representative of the continental climate under the great maritime influence, and Crikvenica represents the maritime climate. The number of icy (tmax<0C) and frost days (tmin<0C) as well as the number of days with minimum temperatures equal or lower than -10C show decreasing trends during this century in Zagreb, but only the trend for tmin<-10C was significant. The result corresponds with the increasing trends in minimum and maximum winter temperatures in Zagreb (Zaninović, Gajić-Čapka, 1995). The increasing trends in minimum temperatures during summer resulted in the increasing number of days with warm nights (tmin>20C). (Fig.1). It seems that the insignificant decreasing trend in summer (tmax>=25C) and tropical days (tmax>=30C). At the Adriatic coast (Crikvenica) significantly increasing trend in number of warm nights corresponds with the increasing trend in minimum summer temperatures. On the other hand, the number of tropical days (tmax>=30C) shows an significant increase in spite of negative trend in mean maximum temperature at the Adriatic coast, indicating at the climatic change in temperature above high threshold values rather than in mean ones. On the contrary from Zagreb and Crikvenica, there is the decreasing trend in the number of warm nights in Osijek, as well as in summer and tropical days. However, significantly decreasing trend in the number of tropical days corresponds with the decrease in mean maximum temperature (Fig 3).
