Sažetak
This text is dealing with the presence, proved by archives documents, of sculptors and builders coming from France to Dubrovnik at the Renaissance period ; it valorizes the preserved works of some of the best known of these people. The continuity of these connections can be followed from the end of the 14th cent. onwards ; an accent is put on the increasing number of magistri during the 16th cent. This phenomenon is important to understand the internationalization of artistic creation in the most southern Croatian town, as well as to observe the reception of some rare influences coming to the Mediteranean from the lands situated over the Alps. To enlight this problematic, the text emphasizes the work of a talented artist which is not known elsewhere: Beltrand Gallicus in the 1530’s, and even more the opus of Jacques de Spinis from Orléans, who is working a lot during the third quarter of the Cinquecento. They are generally looked at as the main leaders of the “second Renaissance”, or defined as representants of the manieristic style which appears in Dubrovnik essentially thanks to them.
