Sažetak
The Latin consonant groups that consist of a consonant followed by the lateral consonant /l/ (e.g. pl, bl, gl, cl, fl) have different outcomes in the Italian dialects. In this paper will be analysed, compared and described the cases of that phenomenon in the Italo-Romace dialectal system. In Tuscan dialects, as well as in the standard Italian language, these groups are regularly palatalized (clave(m) > chiave, blancu(m) > bianco). In Gallo-Italic and Veneian dialects there is a special kind of intense palatalization that affects only the groups cl and gl (clave(m) > ciav, glanda(m) > gianda). Interesting outcomes can be found in Southern Italian dialects: the groups cl and pl give the same results (clave(m) > chiavə, planu(m) > chianə, plumbu(m) > chiummə), the group fl becomes [∫] (flamma(m) > sciamma). A special case is the Friulian dialect where those groups are conserved (planu(m) > plan). The Sardinian dialects, on the other hand, show the rotacized outcomes (clave(m) > crae, plus > prus). The variety of realizations of these consonant groups exists also in other Romance languages.
