Sažetak
Inlet channel geometry has significant impact to the tumble flow intensity in cylinder of one direct injection SI engine. At the same time, special care must be laid to the best possible flow capacity through the same channels. The paper presents the numerical and experimental research performed on three channel geometries for high tumble flow intensity and the least possible impact to the engine power. Each channel geometry was analysed for three various valve lifts. Experimental measurements cover the flow field characteristics and tumble flow intensity. Comparison of the numerical simulations results with measured values is presented too. Reasonably good match between numerical and experimental data was achieved.
