Sažetak
Abduction of women for wedding was noted in ancient times in many completely different cultures. This paper will talk about abductions in Istria (Croatia) in the Diocese of Poreč in the first half of 17th century, under which jurisdiction very important sources have been preserved – the books of abduction (Raptuum) i.e. processes from ecclesiastical court of Diocese of Poreč from the first half of 17th century onwards.
