Sažetak
Tolerance has a two-fold position in education: it is a subject of analysis and also a characteristic of the relationship among the participants in the education process. Educating pupils on human rights depends on the importance that society attributes to human rights and tolerance. Only clear indication of tolerance on all levels of behaviour in the entire society, and effective, not just decla-rative respect of human rights in daily life, can create the conditions for a wide socialisation of these values. The intercultural concept is one possibility for the realisation of such a task. It seems to be an appropriate solution for education in the spirit of tolerance (and human rights) in modern pluralistic societies.
