Sažetak
The European traffic development strategy, basic traffic policy principles of connecting Central Europe and the Baltic with the Adriatic, and the redefining of the national policy of the developed European countries, in stimulating the development of acceptable traffic modes regarding costs and ecology of the water and combined transport, as well as the introduction of restrictions in using roads for cargo transport, indicate the necessity and justification for the countries in transition to change their approach to the policy of traffic development and to pay more attention to the development of water and rail transport.
