Sažetak
During the development of the La Tène culture, which marked the Late Iron Age in southern Pannonia, intensive contacts unfolded with Central Europe, the area considered as the point of origin for the Celtic settlement of the interfluve of the Sava, Drava and Danube rivers during the second half of the 4th cent. BC. This is borne out by a number of forms of weaponry, items of attire and jewellery. Direct contacts have been corroborated by specific types of female jewellery, such as bronze bracelets and anklets, decorated in the plastic style, as well as sapropelite bracelets, found, for instance, in Osijek and Vukovar. There were contacts also during the Middle La Tène, when forms that had originated in the Danube Basin appeared in Central Europe. The peak intensity of contacts has been well documented for the early phase of the Late La Tène, when the sites of the Scordisci and the Taurisci yielded forms of fibulae, belt buckles or horse gear that were also documented at prominent oppida in Bohemia, Moravia, Lower Austria and Slovakia, which, in turn, yielded certain forms that had originated in southern Pannonia, bearing testimony to the communications leading along the Danube and the so-called Amber Road, which ran along the western periphery of Pannonia.
