Sažetak
The problem of existence of cusp forms for almost simple Lie groups is addressed in the paper. The authors are using the approach of the second author combined with local information on supercuspidal representations for p-adic groups known by the first author. Special attention is paid to the case of SL(M, R), where various existence results for principal congruence subgroups are proved.
