Sažetak
Salvage archaeological excavations at the Slatina Town by-pass in spring 2009 yielded a settlement and a cemetery of the Urnfield culture. A total of 38 burials were investigated. The burial ritual and ceramic urn types differ entirely from those of the preceding Virovitica group. Through a typological comparison with other contemporary sites we shall try to raise certain questions regarding the beginning of the younger phase of the Urnfield culture in northern Croatia. The shapes of vessels and the modified burial ritual point to the connection with the Middle Danubian circle without significant regional differences. In this horizon, the ceramics and the ritual show uniformity over the entire southern part of the Carpathian Basin, that is, the south-eastern periphery of the Urnfield culture, unlike the very end of the Urnfield culture, where regional traditions again come to the fore.
