Large number of papers is dedicated to topic of spatial planning of urban centers and regions, with emphasis on urban planning (Ó. Pueyo- Anchuela, 2011), while only a small part of the attention is given to the spatial planning of rural areas. planning as a With regard to protected natural areas, including national parks as part of the rural area, with due to their specifics and sensitivity of the space must be planned as an integrated whole with many constituent. Therefore it is extremely important that participation of researchers of all professions is assured, which can affect the sustainability of development of the area. The Croatian national parks with all its ecological, geological and landscape values have an extremely important role in the development of tourism. With the attempt to ˝ reconcile˝ protection and tourism activities, multidisciplinary planning has a great importance.
