The European Union's identity from the Perspective of the World Trade Organization is influenced by a complex interaction of many factors. This identity has institutional and substantive aspects. The institutional aspects of the Union's international identity as seen by the WTO relate to the fact that both EU and its Member States are WTO members. The substantive aspects of the EU's identity in the WTO are connected to the external effects of the internal market.
