Sažetak
The basic purpose and objective of this scientific discussion is to examine the specific management of parking demand in tourist destinations. During the seasonal period. tourist destinations are faced with increased demand for parking spaces, which often results in reduced traffic flow and discontent of visitors, locals and service providers as well. Accordingly, a working hypothesis has been set: efficient management of parking demand could solve the discrepancy between parking supply and demand, increase the satisfaction of visitors and local population and significantly increase revenue from parking charges. To make this happen, it is necessary to develop partnerships between local authorities, public and private sector and parking lot managers. To prove the hypotheses, various scientific methods were used: the method of analysis and synthesis, descriptive method, induction and deduction, statistics and mathematical methods. The main finding of this paper is that the management of parking demand in larger cities compared to smaller towns requires a different approach. Results of research also suggest guidelines for more effecient management of parking demand in tourist destinations.
