Sažetak
The effect of cromolyn sodium (cromolyn) local pretreatment on capsaicin rhinitis in rats was studied analyzing tissue morphological changes. Observed parameters were edema, vascular damage, inflammatory cells infiltration and IgA upregulation. Nasal mucosa specimens were stained with hemalaun-eosin and imunohistochemically by monoclonal IgA antibodies. Changes were analyzed at 6, 12 and 72 hours after capsaicin application and they were semiquantitatively scored. Results showed that local cromolyn pretreatment modified all observed parameters in the nasal mucosa following capsaicin induced rhinitis in rats.
