Sažetak
In City of Zagreb exists a relatively large number of tram and bus lines, and a large number of people that use these kinds of public transport. To provide passengers with full service in public transport, it is necessary to inform them timely and in proper way, primarily about arrivals of vehicles on particular lines, but also about other important information regarded in these kinds of transport (delays and similar). Except classical presentation of static schedule of arrivals and departures printed on paper, current fashion is the use of dynamic systems for informing, based on different types of electronic signs, such as signs based on electromechanical discs (FLIP- DOT), light-emitting diodes (LED), or liquid- crystal segments (LCD), that are networked with data- center of automated monitoring of vehicles. Largest advantage of this kind of dynamic method of presentation is that the passenger is getting correct and real-time information about arrival of vehicle or some other information. The topic of this article will be description of existing system of informing of passengers in City of Zagreb and its potential for expansion, with reflection on possible problems in such expansion. Article is organized so that introduction gives some quantitative information regarding the system of public transport in Zagreb and organization of informing system. In second section a description of existing stationary signs is given, with description of presentation technology. Third section deals with description of communication part of system toward dispatch center where data is processed – particularly, the existing TETRA system and potential future GPRS system for communication.
