Sažetak
Project stakeholders are people or organisations who are subject to, are part of, or have decision making over a project. For the project performance, primary stakeholders are especially important and they include employees, investors, customers, suppliers and communities. From the stakeholder management point of view, firm as well as the project can be seen as nexus of relationships among its primary stakeholders with the objective to create value. Primary stakeholders create value by performing creative activities, or providing important resources. Tourism projects can deliver short and long term economic, environmental and socio-cultural effects on a destination and stakeholder involvement should be carefully planned throughout the entire life cycle of tourism project. The power of primary stakeholders of tourism projects is often unequal, because specific stakeholders may have the financial or political basis to exercise more power over certain planning stages of a project. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the importance of inclusion of various local stakeholders in creation of tourism products, focusing on involvement in organisation of activities and distribution of benefits. Case study method shall be used for analysis of previously mentioned issues on the example of Istria Inspirit project- tourism project initiated by Istarska county, Istrian Tourist Board and Istrian Tourism Development Agency whose goal is to enrich the peninsula’s cultural tourism events by creating nine new experiences for tourists, using local stakeholders and resources.
