Sažetak
With more variable renewable energy production need for storage is growing. Smart grid technology enables bidirectional communication between supply and demand side and introduces dynamic pricing. Dynamic pricing enables demand side as virtual storage option for moderation of variable renewable energy sources production on distributed generation level. Elasticity in electricity demand is lower in low income societies where, due to energy poverty, consumers could be more interested for demand responsive actions and load shifting of deferrable loads, and therefore consumer flexibility costs will be lower. Measuring static demand elasticity on price changes could be later applied for evaluation of value of consumers responsive actions. Valuing of demand responsive actions as a storage costs where investment and consumer flexibility costs are separated is performed in this article. With dynamic pricing better tariff system could be introduced to save electricity cost for most vulnerable customers based on load shifting. Demand response could be included in long-term planning virtual storage option.
