Sažetak
Globalization has largely influenced processes of transition in CEE countries, but also a vice veras. In fact, it is a vicious circle of influence. Globalization, on one hand, can be defined by its dominant processes of integration and regionalization. The critical need for management of chaotic environment and human society requires integration of knowledge, technology and science in order to build up a global human community system and its sustainable development. Regionalization, at the first sight, is a contradictory process to integration. But, especially in context of supranational regions, this process covers the common interest and goals of a certain area, no matter where political borders are. So, it can also be defined as one aspect of globalization. On the other hand, transition as a process of change can be viewed through political, economic and cultural change. Political aspect of transition is illustrated by disappearance of communist system and emerging of multy-party political systems and democracy. Economic transition goes through processes of privatisation, turn to market economy and development of enterpreneurship. Cultural transition can be analysed through development of civil society and its institutions. All these processes are interrelated. This research tries to define the relationship and influence of these two processes: globalization and transition. We start from the assumption that primarily global economic influences have caused not only economic, but also political and cultural transition in CEE countries. In turn, these transition processes in CEE countries have contributed to global integration and regionalization in economic, political and cultural sense. Evaluation of advantages and disadvantages of these processes and their ineraction is also a part of this research.
