Sažetak
Due to their geochemical features the amphibolite and amphibole-bearing schists could be important for the correlation with other rocks of crystalline basement of Pannonian Basin in general, and especially with those from the Tisia unit. Distribution of main constituents together with distribution of minor and trace elements, petrographic data (relict textures) as well as field features observed in rock-columns, revealed that protolith of amphibolite could not be uniquely determined. However we can clearly distinguish that in most cases protolith was basalt of tholeiite affinity. Fine scale interlayering could be the result of metamorphic differentiation but it can also be consequence of unhomogenous protolith, namely basalts and/or tuffs of basaltic composition alternating with other calcareous metasediments. The protolith might have been generated in different geotectonic environments, so more data are required to confirm model of amphibolite genesis especially the relationship between the P-T increments and the time scale.
