Sažetak
Actualisation of the restructing process within the economic system is an important process for every post-socialist country.There were several research studies carried out on models of financing the construction and maintenance of traffic infrastructure in Croatia, but none of them were based on strong theory, on which a systematic long-term approach could be developed. The development of Croatian economy and the possibilities of its integration into the European Union presuppose the realisation of the accepted traffic development strategy and introduction of new systems, such as ITS. The implementation of ITS requires the existence of computer support and communication systems, along with their mutual integration. Mobility management controls the operation of modern technical and technological (ITS) systems, constantly paying attention to "feedback information" regarding results and monitoring of current requirements. Therefore, the role of mobility management is of great significance for the integration of Croatia into the European economic flows. The work will consider the transportation of goods in certain river and sea ports (stagnation of freight transport). It will also deal with measures for traffic development planned by the development strategy, as well as the influence of mobility management on the traffic modernisation as a criterion for gradual integration of the Republic of Croatia into the European Union.
